Step-by-Step: Adding an Article or Article List

Adding an Article Module

If you want to post an update, a news item, or a text blurb on a page of your site, an Article Module is a good way to do that. To add an Article Module:

  1. Follow the steps outlined in the Adding a Module tutorial
  2. Click the Text tab along the left-hand side of the Add a Module screen and select Article.

  3. Enter an article title, then the text of the article in the field below.

  4. To add photos to the article, click the Photos tab. Click Browse to select photos to upload or click Add from Library to select photos that you’ve already uploaded to your site.

  5. To add a video to the article, click the Video tab, then paste the embed code for the video in the field provided.

  6. Once you’re ready to save the article, name your module then click Save & Close.
  7. After the Article module is added, you can change the content by mousing over the module in the Site Editor and clicking the Pencil Icon in the editing toolbar. When you are done editing, click Save & Close.

Adding an Article List Module 

In some cases you might want to add multiple articles to a page. In these cases, adding an Article List Module is appropriate. To add an Article List Module:

  1. Follow the steps outlined in the Adding a Module tutorial.
  2. Click the Text tab along the left-hand side of the Add a Module screen and select Article List.

  3. To create a new article for the article list, click Create New. Follow steps 3-5 above to enter content for the article. When finished, click SaveTo add an article that you’ve already saved to the list, click Import Existing. Select any saved articles you want to include in the list and click Import. To preview the content of an article, click the magnifying glass symbol next to the article name.
     
  4. To edit the title of your Article List, mouse over the existing title and click when you see the pencil icon appear. Click the save button when you are finished editing the Article List title.

  5. To create another article, click New Item or Add Saved Items and follow all the steps again. Once you are done adding articles, click Save & Close.

  6. Your article list will appear on the page to which you added it. After the list is added, you can change it by mousing over the module in the Site Editor, clicking the pencil iconYou can also rearrange the articles so they appear in a different order. Clicking Settings allows you to adjust the number of articles that appear and how they are labeled. This page also allows you to choose the Layout options for how the article list will appear. When you are done editing, click Save & Close.
